Job Description
As a Legal Data Expert, you will manage legal datasets related to Civil Rights and Environmental Law. This includes analyzing federal district court rulings, maintaining up-to-date datasets, leading a team of attorneys, working with cross-functional teams, and engaging with customers to support data accuracy and product development. You will also represent Lex Machina at events and contribute to marketing efforts through thought leadership and data insights.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze federal district court rulings
Lead a team to maintain litigation datasets
Collaborate with engineers and other legal experts
Monitor and improve data integrity and legal features
Serve as a subject matter expert for Civil Rights and Environmental Law
Support customer success and respond to legal data queries
Contribute feedback to the product team for improvements
Coordinate marketing efforts through webinars, blogs, and presentations
Identify strategic trends and opportunities in legal analytics
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
3+ years legal experience in Civil Rights or Environmental Law
Strong knowledge of federal district court procedures
Organized and able to work independently
Strong interest in data analysis
Tech-savvy and eager to learn data querying (e.g., SQL)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Admission to U.S. bar preferred
Experience with remote teams and virtual meetings (Pacific Time zone availability)
