Job Description
Job Title: IT Administrator

Duty Station: Mukono, Uganda
Job Summary:
QUALITY PLASTICS UGANDA LIMITED is seeking an IT Administrator for purposes of maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of servers, networks. This role supports day-to-day IT operations, implements technology improvements, and provides technical support to users across departments to enhance productivity and data security. The candidate must be performance-driven, possess strong organizational and planning skills, and be proficient in problem-solving and motivating others. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Mukono.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
System Administration
Manage and maintain company servers, user accounts, access rights, and system configurations.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure regular system backups, SQL database backup.
Network Management
Administer and troubleshoot LAN connectivity, firewalls, routers, switches, and WiFi networks.
Maintain network security, including antivirus protection, access control, and threat monitoring.
Coordinate with service providers for internet connectivity and network maintenance.
Hardware and Software Support
Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
Manage software licensing, updates, and asset inventory.
Provide timely technical assistance to end-users for hardware/software issues.
IT Policy & Security Compliance
Implement and enforce IT policies, data security standards, and access protocols.
Monitor cybersecurity risks and maintain system patches and updates.
Ensuring proper maintenance of CCTV cameras from service providers.
Perform any other assigned duties if and when needed
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of experience in IT administration or system/network management.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft 365.
Proficiency in network devices (firewalls, routers, switches, access points).
Good understanding of data backup, cybersecurity, and system monitoring tools.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Working Conditions
On-site, full-time position within the factory or head office premises.
Occasional after-hours support may be required during system upgrades or outages.
