Job Description
An ISP Technician at Fireside Engineering Group installs, maintains, and troubleshoots internet services, focusing on fiber optics (FTTH), involving cable laying, splicing, equipment installation (routers, boxes), testing (OTDR/photometry), fault resolution within SLAs, and detailed reporting, requiring technical skills in fiber handling and adherence to safety/company standards for customer connectivity
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Installing and terminating fiber optic cables and other network equipment.
- Resolving Loss of Services and Connections within SLA.
- Ensure tickets are updated timely and closed with clears once resolved.
- Observing Health & safety guidelines and ensuring quality assurance throughout the implementation and maintenance period.
- Educating clients on basic troubleshooting processes and answering fiber optic related questions from customers.
- Individuals will work as a team with other technicians and NOC personnel and report to field supervisors.
- Fiber link faulting and faults resolutions within the service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Splicing fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs, troubleshooting and testing fiber links with a light source, optical power meters and an OTDR.
- Providing timely updates on fiber faults to the NOC personnel and ensuring excellent customer service to the client.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
