Job Description

As an Investment Analyst at IFC, you will work closely with investment teams to support a range of investment and advisory activities. You will be involved in financial analysis, market research, risk assessments, and the development of complex financial models to inform decision-making. The role demands attention to detail, a solid understanding of corporate and project finance, and the ability to present data and insights effectively. This is a three-year, fixed-term position intended to provide foundational experience in development finance, with most analysts progressing to graduate studies or further professional roles thereafter.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis and build complex financial models.

  • Support investment officers with structuring, negotiating, and executing investment projects.

  • Analyze financial statements, debt pricing benchmarks, and market comparables.

  • Perform market and industry research to assess project opportunities.

  • Assess development impact and risks including ESG factors.

  • Prepare concise reports, business documents, and presentations with clarity and logic.

  • Summarize insights from earlier IFC investments or advisory engagements.

  • Collaborate with clients to collect and verify relevant financial and operational data.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal tools and methods.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.

Experience:

  • Up to 3 years of experience working in a financial institution, preferably in investment projects.

Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Solid grasp of corporate and project finance concepts.

  • Proficient in financial statement analysis and market research.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and cross-functional teams.

  • Keen interest in development finance and private sector-led growth.

  • Fluency in English is required.
