Job Description
The UNFPA Internship Programme provides an opportunity for qualified individuals to work in a dynamic UN environment, supporting the organization’s mission to deliver transformative results. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects related to global health, gender equality, and sustainable development, while gaining exposure to UNFPA’s operations and fieldwork. The programme welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds who demonstrate interest in development, adaptability to multicultural settings, and commitment to UN values.
Interns may receive a monthly stipend if they are not sponsored by an external institution. The internship must begin within one year of graduation if the applicant is not currently enrolled in an academic program. Interns will also be expected to uphold the values of the United Nations, including integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.

How to Apply
Support programmatic and operational functions of UNFPA’s ongoing projects.
Conduct research and contribute to reports, documents, and proposals.
Assist in planning and organizing workshops, meetings, and events.

Educational Requirements:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree program.
Eligible fields include but are not limited to Public Health, International Relations, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.
Enrollment in a postgraduate professional trainee programme also qualifies.
Other Requirements:
Interest in development work, particularly UNFPA’s mandate.
Proficiency in English or French; fluency in one of UNFPA’s working languages.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in multicultural environments.
No direct family relationship with a current UNFPA staff member.
