The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting independent and objective audits of the financial and operational activities of the institute.

  • The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting independent and objective audits of the financial and operational activities of the institute.

  • The Internal Auditor also provides assurance and advisory services to the management and the board on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems, risk management and governance processes.

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field from a recognized university.

  • A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or CISA.

  • At least three years of relevant experience in internal or external auditing, preferably in a public sector or research organization.

  • Knowledge of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF) and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

  • Proficiency in computerized accounting systems and audit software.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, report writing and interpersonal skills.

  • High integrity, independence, objectivity and professionalism.
