Position Summary:
The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda is seeking a qualified Internal Audit Officer to plan, execute, and report on assigned audit engagements in line with the Authority’s approved audit plan and internal audit manual. The role supports the organization's efforts to ensure accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Internal: Internal Audit Team and all IRA Staff
External: External Auditors

How to Apply
Identify business objectives and assess risks related to activities under review to inform audit planning.
Perform audit procedures and prepare detailed working papers in line with professional auditing standards.
Draft high-quality audit reports for review by the Senior Internal Auditor.
Ensure timely execution and completion of audit assignments, including post-audit evaluations.
Conduct follow-up audits to verify implementation of audit recommendations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Timely submission of audit reports and related documentation
Prompt resolution of internal and external audit-related inquiries
Timely and professional response to stakeholder requests and concerns
Person Specifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field, with a major in Finance or Accounting
Skills and Attributes:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Strong team player with a collaborative approach
