Job Description
The HSE & Training Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and delivering specialized safety training, ensuring the implementation of HSE standards, and supporting client projects through safety coordination. The ideal candidate will be experienced in marine or oil & gas environments, with practical knowledge of Confined Space Entry (CSE), Lockout Tagout (LOTO), and Fall Protection. This role also involves maintaining regulatory documentation, supporting ISO audit processes, and serving as the primary point of contact for client HSE training needs.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver hands-on and classroom-based training on CSE, LOTO, Fall Protection, and Hot Work Procedures
Oversee training sessions for internal and external stakeholders in line with global safety standards
Regularly update training materials, manuals, and procedures
Coordinate safety programs and supervise HSE aspects of client construction sites
Conduct safety risk assessments and implement corrective measures
Collaborate with clients to design customized safety and training programs
Provide HSE advisory and technical support for client audits and projects
Maintain accurate records of training, audits, and certifications
Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, and 14064 standards
Support internal and external audit processes
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related discipline
3–5 years of experience in HSE roles within marine, offshore, or oil & gas sectors
Mandatory Certifications:
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
ISPON (current member)
ASP or CSP (Board of Certified Safety Professionals)
Membership in IIRSM, OSHA, or other recognized safety bodies
In-depth knowledge of CSE, LOTO, Fall Protection, Hot Work Permit Procedures
Familiarity with HSE software tools and documentation systems
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
Must reside within Ajah–Ibeju-Lekki axis
