Job Description
To facilitate the academic, social, emotional, and moral development of learners by delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the Kenyan curriculum (CBC/8-4-4), using learner-centered approaches and maintaining a supportive learning environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery
Prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in assigned subjects.
Implement CBC guidelines including learning outcomes, performance tasks, and assessment rubrics.
Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning aids.
Incorporate ICT tools and digital content in teaching where applicable.
Assessment and Evaluation
Design and administer both formative and summative assessments.
Keep accurate records of learners' progress and use data to inform instruction.
Prepare end-term reports and conduct parent-teacher meetings.
Classroom Management
Maintain discipline using positive behavior reinforcement strategies.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
Address learners’ social-emotional needs and refer serious cases to the counselor or administration.
Professionalism and Teamwork
Attend all scheduled staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
Participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities (e.g., sports, clubs, drama).
Collaborate with colleagues in planning and co-teaching when necessary.
Parental Engagement
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians about learners’ progress and school matters.
Participate in school open days, academic clinics, and other parental engagement forums.
Curriculum Development
Contribute to the continuous review and enrichment of curriculum content.
Innovate and adapt learning materials to meet diverse learner needs.
