Job Description
The Head of Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with the company’s business goals and values. This includes overseeing talent acquisition and retention, staff training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, workplace wellbeing, and compliance with labor laws. The role will also advise senior management on HR issues, support organizational change, and implement HR technology solutions to modernize practices. The position requires strong leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to combine strategic vision with practical execution.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR strategies to support business objectives and company culture.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
Design and manage performance management and career development systems.
Promote employee engagement, workplace inclusion, and wellbeing.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws, employment regulations, and company policies.
Oversee compensation, benefits, and reward programs.
Provide HR advisory to senior management on workforce planning and organizational development.
Lead organizational change and culture-building initiatives.
Implement HR technology and best practices to improve efficiency.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional HR certifications (CIPM, CIPD, SHRM) are an advantage.
Experience
5–10 years of progressive HR experience.
Minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven expertise in organizational development, talent management, and HR compliance.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strategic thinker with ability to execute hands-on initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster an inclusive work culture.
