Job Description
Job Title: Head of Finance
Organisation: EBC
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary:
The Head of Finance will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the company’s financial operations. This role will be responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, risk management, and ensuring the company’s financial health and growth. The Head of Finance will serve as a key advisor to the executive team, driving financial strategies to support business goals and maximize profitability
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support overall business objectives.
Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business plans.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and corporate policies.
Manage internal and external audits, ensuring financial integrity and transparency.
Develop and implement effective financial controls and risk management strategies.
Monitor and manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and market risks.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA is required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior executive position.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and corporate finance principles.
Proven experience in financial planning, risk management, and strategic decision-making.
Experience in international markets and cross-border financial operations is a plus.
preferably experience, in the telecommunications and financial services sector.

High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
