Job Description
The Head of Branch Operations will oversee all operational aspects of the branch including cash management, vault access control, reconciliation, regulatory reporting, and internal controls. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with audit requirements, enhancing service delivery, resolving operational lapses, and promoting digital banking. The ideal candidate is expected to create a supportive team environment, drive customer satisfaction, and uphold the bank’s operational integrity.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and supervise all branch operations and staff
Ensure effective administration of cash management and vault access control
Liaise with auditors to ensure compliance and minimize exceptions
Review internal ledgers and reports regularly
Identify and resolve failure points in operations
Maintain high standards of customer service and complaint resolution
Approve transactions and monitor branch-wide activities
Coordinate training for all branch staff
Oversee proofs preparation and transaction reconciliation
Ensure timely and accurate regulatory and internal reporting
Drive customer engagement and promote bank products and services
Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Promote digital banking and align branch operations with the bank’s strategic goals
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, specifically in branch operations
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
In-depth knowledge of banking operations, regulatory compliance, and customer service best practices
Proficiency in report generation, reconciliation, and transaction approval
Ability to drive digital adoption and maintain operational excellence
