Job Description
The role holder will spearhead HR strategy development and implementation, ensuring seamless alignment with business objectives and financial sustainability. Responsibilities include designing competitive compensation structures, managing headcount and productivity initiatives, strengthening employer branding, fostering strong employee relations, and leading talent acquisition and development strategies. The position will champion performance management, culture transformation, HR policy development, HR technology deployment, wellness and safety programs, succession planning, and governance. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and drive continuous improvement, innovation, and organizational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Management
Develop and manage group-wide compensation and benefits strategies
Lead workforce planning and ensure alignment of staffing with budget
Implement productivity and cost-efficiency initiatives
Oversee HR budgeting and track ROI on HR programs
Align reward frameworks with business performance
Employee Relations & Culture
Strengthen employer brand and position the Group as an employer of choice
Maintain union and employee relations in compliance with labour laws
Enhance employee engagement and feedback programs
Build a culture of trust, confidentiality, and ethical practice
Manage talent pipelines aligned to business needs
HR Systems, Policies & Process Improvement
Develop and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, and governance systems
Champion Balance Scorecard performance management
Implement HR technology for analytics and decision-making
Drive change management and organizational development programs
Ensure workplace health, safety, and wellness compliance
Learning & Development
Lead leadership development and succession planning
Establish continuous learning systems and mentorship programs
Foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
Strengthen HR team capability and business partnership skills
Promote shared corporate values and cultural cohesion
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic & Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with HR-specific training
CHRP-K certification and IHRM membership mandatory
Minimum of 5 years senior HR leadership experience
Proven track record in HR transformation and board-level advisory
Hotel industry experience in a 4-star+ property with 150+ staff is required
Manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage
Key Competencies
Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and global HR standards
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Strategic, analytical, financially astute and results-oriented
Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across diverse teams
High integrity, self-drive, and professional ethics
