The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Limited was established under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies' Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda.
The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State's commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.
UNOC is offering Graduate Internship opportunities for a maximum of six (6) months - non-renewable contract to recent graduates interested in starting a career in an Oil and Gas industry.
Learning and Development: Graduate Trainees are responsible for participating in training programs designed to develop their skills, knowledge, and competencies. They undergo on-the-job training, classroom-based learning, and mentorship to gain exposure to various aspects of the organization's operations.
Rotation and Exposure: Graduate Trainees may rotate through different departments, teams, or functions within the organization to gain exposure to diverse roles and responsibilities. They learn about different areas of the business, including sales, marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and customer service.
Project Work: Graduate Trainees may be assigned to work on specific projects or initiatives within their assigned departments or teams. They contribute to project planning, execution, and evaluation under the guidance of experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and practical skills.
Research and Analysis: Graduate Trainees may conduct research, gather data, and analyze information to support decision-making and problem-solving within their assigned areas. They may assist in market research, competitor analysis, customer surveys, and data analysis projects.
Documentation and Reporting: Graduate Trainees are responsible for documenting their learning experiences, project work, and achievements throughout the training program. They may prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate their findings, recommendations, and progress to supervisors and mentors.
Networking and Relationship Building: Graduate Trainees have the opportunity to network with colleagues, supervisors, mentors, and other professionals within the organization. They build relationships, seek advice, and learn from experienced professionals to enhance their professional development and career growth.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Graduate Trainees are expected to adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards throughout the training program. They demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and respect for confidentiality in their interactions and work activities.
Performance Evaluation: Graduate Trainees may undergo periodic performance evaluations and assessments to track their progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. They receive feedback from supervisors, mentors, and trainers to guide their development and learning.
Continuous Learning and Improvement: Graduate Trainees are encouraged to take initiative in their learning and development by seeking out opportunities for skill enhancement, knowledge acquisition, and professional growth. They stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to their field.
Transition to Permanent Roles: Depending on the organization's policies and performance criteria, Graduate Trainees may be considered for permanent employment opportunities upon successful completion of the training program. Must provide a copy of University Degree Transcript obtained from a recognized University i.e. (Bachelor's Degree).
Must have a minimum of a 2nd class upper degree, with a minimum CGPA of 4.0.
Must have scored a minimum of a Credit in Mathematics and English subjects at Ordinary Level (O' level).
Must have graduated not more than three years from the time of applying for this opportunity.
