About the Organisation
Action Against Hunger-ACF, worldwide is recognized as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, with a purpose to save the lives of undernourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. Job Title: Graduate Trainee - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) 4 No Experience Jobs

The WASH Graduate Trainee will support the community engagement & participation to support the implementation of the WASH project interventions including both hardware and software spanning Hygiene campaigns, sensitizations, household visits, and water supply construction, rain water harvesting, and Hand pump rehabilitation, Household latrine construction at household level, community and institutions. The involves participation in beneficiary/stakeholder identification, registration and follow-up and data collection from community structures including village health teams (VHTs), Water source committees, solid committees, care groups and others.

How to Apply
Programme Implementation (70%)
Participate in the implementation of the WASH project interventions based on the project deliverables.
Disseminate WASH behavioral change messages to targeted households and communities in collaboration with the WASH Officer, program manager, & VHTs, including distribution or installation of WASH IEC materials.
Coordinate and supervise community structures involved in the implementation of the WASH programme.
Conduct onsite demonstrations (handwashing, tippy tap, safe water handling, treatment) at targeted households and communities.
Support the entire process of construction of works, ensuring beneficiary participation and conformity with the Action Against Hunger WASH standards.
Participate in the formation and capacity building of WASH management committees to ensure sustainable utilization of knowledge acquired.
Contribute to documenting experiences, giving inputs to project reports, Success stories and articles for publication/success stories.
Liaise and coordinate all the activities with the other NGOs, the community representatives, the beneficiaries and other agencies representatives engaged in the WASH sector in the project sites.
Actively participate in coordination and feedback sessions in collaboration with UNHCR, OPM/DLG and other partners.
Effective Monitoring and Evaluation (25%)
Participate in surveys, assessments to continually identify WASH gaps and needs in the project areas/sites.
Conduct regular field visits to project sites and update the WASH Officer with the progress of project activities in the field, including participation in joint monitoring visits.
Prepare regular and comprehensive project progressive weekly or monthly reports.
Ensure that all the partners/Service Providers contracted by ACF, render quality service to the clienteles/beneficiaries as per the terms spelt out in the contractual agreements and give feed back to the WASH Officer.
Other duties as required (5%)

A minimum of Diploma in Engineering (Water resources, Civil, environmental, etc.) or Public health, Environment science Water Resources management, social sciences, or any other WASH relevant discipline.
Candidate should possess 1-2 years’ relevant work experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Must have graduated from School starting from 2022 to date.
Previous experience in the fields in water supply, water treatment, sanitation and behavior change.
Good knowledge of computer skills with proficiency in AutoCAD, Google earth, EPANET, and Microsoft 365 packages.
Basic knowledge on participatory WASH methodologies/approaches including Baby WASH, CLTS, Baby WASH, PHAST, CHAST, etc.
Good Knowledge of irrigation systems design, installation and O & M.
Excellent communication & representation skills.
Previous work in a refugee setting is desirable.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
Extremely flexible with the ability to cope with stressful situations.
Culturally sensitive and adaptive.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Should be able and willing to ride a motorcycle and possess a valid riding permit.
