General Summary
The Global Health Security (GHS) Vaccines and Medical Countermeasures (MCM) program supports the development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics for priority pathogens. The Project Pharmacist will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, effective, and quality-assured management and use of medical countermeasures during clinical trials, emergency preparedness, and public health response activities.

How to Apply
Assist in coordinating and implementing MCM activities across preparedness, response, and recovery phases.
Support the development and implementation of pharmacovigilance and drug safety surveillance systems during MCM deployment.
Contribute to the creation of guidelines, SOPs, and training materials for the use of novel vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics.
Assist in collecting and analyzing data on MCM development, deployment, and safety monitoring to guide risk-benefit evaluations and regulatory decisions.
Collaborate with supply chain teams to forecast demand, monitor inventory, and ensure cold chain integrity for vaccines.
Participate in monitoring and evaluating MCM deployment at healthcare facilities and community levels, including emergency preparedness activities.
Work closely with clinical teams to establish and maintain robust adverse event monitoring and reporting systems.
Support documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices related to MCM deployment.
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 from a recognized university.
A Master’s degree in Public Health, Clinical Pharmacology, or related fields is an advantage.
Registered and in good standing with the Pharmacy Board and Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda.
Person Specification
Strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, regulatory requirements, and supply chain logistics.
Commitment to public health, emergency response, and ensuring safe use of medical countermeasures.
