The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a semi-autonomous government agency established in 1996 under the Capital Markets Authority Act (Cap 64), as amended. CMA is mandated to promote, develop, and regulate Uganda’s capital markets industry, with a focus on investor protection and market efficiency.
Opportunity Overview
CMA is inviting applications from qualified young legal professionals to join its Graduate Trainee Program within the Legal Department. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of securities regulation and capital markets law.
As a Graduate Trainee – Legal, you will be exposed to:
Capital markets legislative development, review, and reform.
Drafting legal instruments and regulatory guidelines.
Legal aspects of capital market transactions.
Enforcement of securities regulations and compliance procedures.
Participation in regulatory investigations and legal proceedings.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law with a First Class or Upper Second from a recognized institution.
Possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice awarded within the last two (2) years as of the application date.
Demonstrate a genuine interest in capital markets and financial regulation.
No prior work experience is required.
