We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Trainee – Back Office to join our growing team. This role offers recent graduates hands-on experience in administrative and operational functions, helping to build a solid foundation for a successful career in the corporate world.
Position Overview
Job Title: Graduate Trainee – Back Office – Watu Simu
Reports To: Back Office Supervisor
As a Graduate Trainee – Back Office, you will be responsible for verifying and ensuring the accuracy of data related to client loans. You will flag discrepancies for correction, support back-office operations, and contribute to seamless onboarding processes.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform data entry and verification during key stages of the client onboarding process in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
Validate the authenticity of client documents and information by contacting clients for confirmation.
Clearly state reasons for rejecting any loan applications during the verification process.
Collaborate with supervisors to resolve onboarding system issues (OBS).
Ensure all sales are finalized within set timelines and follow up on any pending cases with field officers.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and code of conduct in all activities.
Undertake any additional work-related duties assigned by management in support of company goals.
Proactively suggest improvements and innovations to enhance operational efficiency.
Provide support in other back-office functions as needed.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English and at least one local language (e.g. Luganda, Runyankole, Rutooro, Rufumbira, Rukiga, Ateso, Acholi, Langi, Kumam, Lumasaba, Swahili, Lugbara, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets); ERP system experience is a plus.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Eagerness to learn and grow professionally within the organization.
Strong relationship-building and customer engagement skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
