Job Description
The Graduate: Finance - Transport will work within the supply chain division, supporting the financial operations and transport unit by preparing financial results, analyzing cost data, assisting with billing and revenue management, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. The role bridges finance and operational teams to optimize efficiency, support decision-making, and enhance profitability. It offers a practical application of financial knowledge in a logistics environment with emphasis on continuous improvement, project management, and vendor coordination.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial results using Oracle data
Raise journals and investigate financial variations
Support timeous client billing and follow-ups for outstanding payments
Conduct cost analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for logistics operations
Collaborate across departments to align financial objectives with business strategies
Interpret and present financial and operational data
Manage and report monthly financial submissions within set deadlines
Contribute to vendor management and project oversight
Support the Distribution Centre with financial and administrative expertise
Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure alignment between finance and operational processes
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Matric Certificate
BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
CIMA qualification (preferred)
Experience & Skills:
Strong financial acumen
Good understanding of quality and performance indicators
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Computer literacy and proficiency in financial systems
Ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders
Goal-oriented, proactive, and accountable
