Job Description
The incumbent will manage regional operations aligned to MTN SA’s commercial strategy, ensuring synergy between the head office and regional teams. Responsibilities include driving strategic and operational initiatives, managing regional performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and leading regional customer experience, financial management, and stakeholder relations.
The General Manager will also supervise and lead regional teams, ensure staff development, optimize resources, and provide executive-level reporting on performance. This role involves proactive communication, innovation, and continuous process improvement to maintain competitive advantage and ensure excellent client experience.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Align operational strategy across EBU, Technology, Customer Experience, and Consumer divisions.
Drive implementation of strategic initiatives and regional business improvement.
Ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
Lead shared services functions including finance and procurement.
Develop and manage regional budgets and report financial performance.
Deliver exceptional client experience and address customer satisfaction.
Lead and mentor regional management teams.
Manage staff performance, training, and development.
Represent MTN in regional stakeholder meetings and public engagements.
Monitor trends and market dynamics to improve regional performance.
Promote innovation and implement cost-saving strategies.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Commerce, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
At least 10 years of progressive experience in operations, strategy implementation, and team leadership in a complex business environment.
Strong experience in the telecommunications sector is an added advantage.
