The Innovation Village is Uganda’s launchpad for leading innovators and entrepreneurs. We are building an entire ecosystem of entrepreneurs and innovators in what is growing to become a business solutions provider for our biggest challenges or opportunities. From helping entrepreneurs launch and grow high-impact ventures to attracting regional and global opportunities, our ecosystem approach converges multiple partners including public, private, academia, research, and civil society as one force for good.
Lead on the organization’s and staff gender and safeguarding needs assessment and design a comprehensive support plan for staff
Lead efforts to conduct a gender analysis of the Digital Doors and Next Wave programs
Develop a Digital Doors Gender Equality strategy based on Innovation Village’s Gender Equality Policy
Review the Digital Doors and NextWave programs and develop action plans to ensure gender and safeguarding elements are holistically embedded in program design, implementation, and M&E
Lead on developing a framework for enhancing safeguarding in the programs
Work with internal TIV teams and program partners to make gender inclusiveness intentional in all aspects of the programs, including design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Work with the team to identify and understand women's role and participation in
The services addressed by the program, identify the barriers that prevent /exclude young women from accessing and benefiting from the program services, work with the team to co-create sustainable solutions
Work with program staff and partners to enhance their capacity to mainstream gender in the Digital Doors and NextWave programs through leading trainings and other learning engagements
Monitor and assess the program’s progress towards progress towards meeting the programs' gender targets
Collaborate with external organizations and community groups to promote gender equality in all areas of program implementation
Identify and design approaches to address any gender-based discrimination or inequality within all program touchpoints
Develop and maintain relationships with external program partners and stakeholders on gender-related issues
Liaise with Foundation Gender and Safeguarding lead and the Young Africa Works Gender and Safeguarding
Community of Practice to contribute to evolution and adaptation of innovative approaches to meet the program gender targets
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Knowledge of how to create and maintain a safe and supportive work environment for all employees.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date on the latest research and best practices related to gender management.
Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with other departments and stakeholders within the organization
