Job Description
The Coordinator will spearhead gender training for staff and students, manage mentorship programs targeting women at UGHE, and support departments in applying recommendations from the 2025 gender and diversity audit. They will also develop tailored gender training resources, monitor progress on gender equity initiatives, and collaborate across departments to strengthen institutional capacity on gender mainstreaming.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver gender equity training for new and current UGHE staff and students
Develop and adapt gender-related training materials
Manage a structured mentorship program for women faculty, staff, and students
Provide technical support to departments based on gender audit findings
Track institutional progress in gender mainstreaming initiatives
Collect and analyze gender-disaggregated data for reporting and planning
Collaborate with department leaders to align gender integration with policies and practices
Facilitate sharing of best practices on gender equity across UGHE
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field
3–5 years’ experience in gender mainstreaming, preferably in healthcare or higher education
Experience in designing and delivering gender equity training
Familiarity with gender analysis tools and mentorship program management
Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong project management and M&E capabilities
Proficiency in English (French or Kinyarwanda is an added advantage)
Strong organizational and analytical skills
How to Apply
