Job Description
The Financial Manager will be responsible for managing the financial function of the property, including budgeting, financial reporting, asset control, tax compliance, and cost management. The role involves liaising with key stakeholders, reviewing internal controls, supporting audit processes, and ensuring alignment with the company’s financial policies and transformation objectives. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee monthly payments and ensure appropriate approvals
Assist with transformation initiatives and B-BBEE compliance, aiming for Level 1 verification
Manage company assets and ensure adequate control measures are in place
Prepare and review budgets, monthly reports, financial forecasts, and balance sheets
Compile year-end financial statements and tax-related documentation
Support internal and external audit processes
Implement and review accounting procedures and internal controls
Administer statutory taxes, levies, and charges
Maintain detailed cost control processes
Build and maintain productive relationships with employees, guests, and key stakeholders
Respond to ad hoc financial instructions from Head Office
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
BCom degree majoring in Financial Management or Financial Accounting (essential)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant financial management experience (essential)
Experience in the hospitality or gambling industry is an added advantage
Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
Deadline-driven and works well under pressure
Effective at liaising across all levels of the organization
