Job Description
The Financial Health Operations Manager will oversee teams of FinHealth COps, managing both customer-facing and back-office activities. Responsibilities include guiding around six Team Managers, supporting professional development, and ensuring teams deliver high-quality service in line with regulatory standards. The role involves partnering within the FinHealth Group to deliver portfolio changes, instilling risk awareness, and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement. The manager will also handle escalations, coach team leaders, contribute to hiring and training, and ensure Monzo continues to offer exceptional customer experiences while maintaining compliance with financial regulations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Partner with the FinHealth Group to drive portfolio performance and changes.
Build a culture focused on accurate, efficient, risk-aware work.
Ensure customer experience and regulatory compliance remain central to all operations.
Support the evolution of lending products with customer-centric approaches.
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
Conduct regular 1:1s with Team Managers, provide coaching, and drive performance.
Contribute to hiring, training, and onboarding of new leaders and COps.
Act as an escalation point for service, risk, and personnel issues.
Collaborate with People and COps teams on disciplinary and grievance matters.
Drive high performance culture and knowledge-sharing among leaders.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Proven experience as an Operations Manager in FinHealth, Collections, or Recoveries.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams in financial difficulties, collections, or recoveries.
Experience with back-office technical teams and third-party service providers preferred.
Strong empathetic leadership style and proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage change effectively and advocate for best practices.
Comfortable working and leading remotely.
