Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer is responsible for day-to-day financial implementation of climate change programs, ensuring accuracy in reporting, fund reconciliation, document verification, and compliance with donor regulations. The role includes collaborating with local and head office teams, reviewing budgets, and ensuring financial documentation supports all program expenditures. The officer will also assist in partner support, institutional capacity development, and maintain high safeguarding standards. In addition, the Finance Officer ensures systems and monitoring tools are effectively applied and promotes accountability to program beneficiaries.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial roles, preferably in NGOs or donor-funded programs

  • Proven knowledge in budget analysis, reconciliation, and donor compliance

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Experience in partner support and institutional capacity development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management software

  • Commitment to safeguarding principles and procedures
