Job Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the company’s accounting and reporting activities, including the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. The role oversees consolidation of subsidiary results, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with SOX controls. The Finance Manager will also coordinate year-end audits, respond to management inquiries, and provide training for finance and non-finance colleagues. Additionally, the role involves building financial models, supporting corporate projects, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with the Director/VP Finance and Lottery stakeholders. This hybrid role combines operational oversight with strategic financial leadership.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes.
Prepare and consolidate financial reports, including variance analyses.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Develop and maintain internal control processes to ensure SOX compliance.
Build financial models to improve reporting quality and timeliness.
Liaise with corporate departments and Lottery stakeholders for accounting treatment and reporting alignment.
Assist in smooth year-end audits and respond to audit queries.
Provide training and mentoring to finance and non-finance staff.
Educate managers in financial concepts.
Identify and implement cost-saving and operational improvements.
Support VP Finance and management with special projects.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
5–7 years of accounting/financial analysis experience.
Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
Proven leadership skills, with experience managing at least one direct report.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience with ERP/financial reporting systems (SAP preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
