Job Opportunity: Finance Manager

Purpose of the Role:

The Finance Manager oversees AIC’s finance operations to ensure that the organization’s financial resources are effectively managed, adequately safeguarded, and efficiently utilized. This role supports strategic planning, budget implementation, financial reporting, and compliance with both internal policies and external donor requirements.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Auditing), Finance & Accounting, or Business Administration.

  • Full CPA or ACCA qualification is mandatory.

  • Full membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) is required.

Experience

  • At least 6 years of professional experience, including:

    • 3 years in a managerial or similar position

    • Hands-on experience in a donor-funded organization

  • Proven track record in financial oversight within public, private, or NGO sectors.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of donor financial reporting and accountability requirements

  • Familiarity with international accounting standards (IAS/IFRS)

  • Expertise in program budgeting, planning, and auditing

  • Familiarity with AIC’s Chart of Accounts, policies, and financial procedures is an added advantage


Key Competencies

  • Financial Management and analytical thinking

  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
