The Opportunity

ASIGMA is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Finance Manager to lead the financial planning and strategy for the organization. In this role, you’ll provide key insights and recommendations through meticulous analysis of daily financial operations. Your expertise will guide the company’s leadership in making data-driven decisions aligned with ASIGMA’s long-term objectives. You’ll also be responsible for driving financial growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining financial health across the organization.

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare timely, accurate financial reports and provide actionable insights for management.

  • Maintain proper accounting records in accordance with donor and stakeholder requirements.

  • Lead the financial close process on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis.

  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Monitor financial performance, recommend corrective actions, and identify opportunities for improvement.

2. Audit Management

  • Lead coordination with internal and external auditors.

  • Oversee audit preparation, respond to audit inquiries, and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.

  • Review financial clauses in grant agreements and advise on feasibility and compliance.

  • Investigate discrepancies highlighted in audit reports and ensure resolution.

3. Tax Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee accurate and timely filing of taxes and revenue authority submissions.

4. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Develop annual budgets and lead monthly budget-to-actual reporting across departments.

  • Promote fiscal discipline and cost-efficiency throughout the organization.

  • Monitor stock and receivables, with timely reporting on ageing and collections.

  • Suggest process improvements to optimize cost and performance indicators.

5. Strategic Financial Management

  • Drive automation and standardization of financial tasks and reporting.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to align financial planning with company strategy.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external service providers, contractors, and financiers.

  • Analyze pricing, costs, variable contributions, and overall business performance.

  • Support investment decisions and advise on long-term financial strategies.

6. Controllership

  • Maintain full ownership of the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of the trial balance.

  • Enforce compliance with internal policies, authorization matrices, and financial controls.

  • Ensure consistency and integrity in financial master data and chart of accounts.

7. Treasury & Risk Management

  • Oversee cash flow and fund disbursements for ongoing projects.

  • Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal and external treasury policies.

8. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all financial operations adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate bank reconciliations and financial statements.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (Master’s degree is an advantage).

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Mandatory.

  • ACCA membership is an added advantage.

  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within fast-paced or project-based environments.

  • Strong understanding of financial statistics, accounting principles, and statutory regulations.

  • Proven track record in budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting.

  • Demonstrated experience leading finance teams and implementing process improvements.

  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
