Women's International Peace Centre
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.

Budget Management:
Prepare, monitor, and manage the organization’s budget.
Ensure that spending aligns with the budget and identify areas for cost control.
Report on budget performance and address variances.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Coordinate and manage the financial audit process.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow to ensure liquidity.
Forecast future cash flow positions based on projected revenues and expenses.
Implement strategies to optimize cash flow.
Cost Control and Efficiency:
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses.
Evaluate financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects and investments.
Risk Management:
Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure the organization has appropriate insurance coverage and risk management policies.
Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:Ensure compliance with financial laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Stay updated on changes in financial legislation and implement necessary changes.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of reports.
Investment Management:
Oversee the organization’s investment portfolio and develop strategies to maximize returns.
Conduct investment analysis and provide recommendations.
Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Work with other departments to provide financial support and guidance.
Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors and other key stakeholders.
Strategic Support:
Support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial insights and analysis.
Participate in business development activities and assess the financial viability of new projects.
Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial goals and plans.
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance Certified Public Accountant or hold CPA, CFA, CPMA A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting/finance with any bilateral or international funding or non-profit development agencies
Experience in developing project budgets and financial management systems
Experience in facilitating the development of accounting software Significant knowledge of international donor financial reporting procedures and the Government of Uganda policies, rules, and regulations.
