Job Description
The Finance Assistant provides essential financial and administrative support to the finance team, ensuring timely processing of transactions and accurate documentation of financial activities. They will be responsible for handling payments, assisting with payroll and per diem preparation, and managing petty cash. The role includes maintaining digital and physical filing systems, supporting audit processes, and ensuring adherence to donor and internal financial procedures. Additionally, the Finance Assistant will provide direct financial support during field operations, including distributions, trainings, and field reconciliations.

How to Apply
Process payment requests, invoices, and support timely fund disbursement
Assist in preparing payroll and per diem documentation
Maintain and reconcile petty cash, ensuring proper documentation
Conduct periodic physical cash counts with the Finance Officer
Scan, file, and archive financial documents (both digital and hard copy)
Prepare supporting documents for audits and organize financial records
Contribute to monthly financial reports and reconciliations
Track expenditure against budgets and report anomalies
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, procurement regulations, and internal policies
Support field-based financial activities such as liquidations, distributions, and training payments
Travel to field locations as needed for finance-related support and monitoring
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a finance or accounting support role
Experience working with NGOs or in humanitarian settings is an added advantage
Competencies:
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Strong organizational and document management skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial ethics
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel and support field operations when needed
