Impact (ACSI) is a collaborative network of grassroots organizations committed to maximizing community-led response and development initiatives. ACSI fosters a holistic approach to sustainable development, emphasizing the leadership of local grassroots initiatives.
Role Overview: The Finance and Administration Volunteer will play a critical role in supporting the financial and administrative functions of the ACSI secretariat. Working closely with the Project Coordinator and other team members, the Finance and Administration Officer will ensure efficient financial management, compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and smooth administrative operations.
Financial Management:
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts as required by management and donors.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure timely submission of audited financial statements.
Budgeting and Grants Management:
Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational goals.
Track grant expenditures and provide regular updates to the Project Coordinator and donors.
Support the preparation of grant proposals, budgets, and financial reports for funding applications.
Administration:
Provide administrative support to the ACSI secretariat, including managing office supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements and venue bookings
Assist in the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Maintain proper filing systems for financial and administrative documents, both electronic and hard copy.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and donor requirements related to finance and administration.
Prepare and submit statutory returns and reports to regulatory authorities as required.
Support the Project Coordinator in preparing narrative reports and updates for stakeholders and donors.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance and administration, preferably in a nonprofit organization or coalition setting.
Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with donor-funded projects and understanding of donor regulations.
Knowledge of Ugandan tax laws and compliance requirements.
Experience in procurement processes and contract management.
Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
