Job Description
Job Vacancy: Finance and Administration Manager
Organization: Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC)
Location: Uganda
Salary Scale: UNMC 2
Reports to: Registrar
Supervises: Senior Administrative Officer, Senior Accountant, Senior Records Officer, Senior IT and Data Officer, Senior Procurement Officer, Senior Human Resource Officer
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and implement departmental goals, work plans, and internal policies.
Prepare and monitor departmental budgets and reports.
Maintain accurate financial records in line with regulatory requirements.
Advise the Registrar on administrative and operational matters.
Oversee procurement processes for transparency and compliance.
Supervise IT functions to ensure adherence to policies and data integrity.
Guide recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
Manage the institution’s assets and stores.
Oversee the registry and records management systems.
Supervise and appraise departmental staff.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting), Commerce (Accounting), Statistics, or Economics from a recognized institution.
Full professional accounting certification (ACCA, APA, ACIS, or CIMA) accredited by ICPAU.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or Public Administration.
Certificate in Administrative Law.
Experience:
At least 6 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years at a senior accountant or equivalent level in a reputable organization.
