Job Description
Soleil Power is looking for a Fabrication Engineer in Kampala with 5 years of experience to lead metal fabrication activities and manage CNC machinery operations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in cutting, bending, welding, drilling, grinding, finishing, and assembly of metal components.
- Operate and supervise the use of fabrication equipment, including CNC press brake, CNC fiber laser cutter, welding machines, and other workshop tools.
- Create, edit, and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and fabrication specifications.
- Set up and operate CNC fabrication machines and troubleshoot basic operation issues.
- Apply and supervise appropriate welding techniques for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Supervise a small team of fabrication technicians and allocate daily work assignments.
- Inspect fabricated components against drawings, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Ensure fabrication equipment is cleaned, maintained, and used in accordance with operating procedures.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to resolve fabrication-related issues.
