Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will play a pivotal role in transformer design, manufacturing, and project execution. The role includes providing technical support, improving processes, and working with multi-functional teams to implement operational excellence across manufacturing and design. The ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of low and medium voltage systems, grounding and fault level calculations, and have experience in innovative technologies such as PV systems and transformer protection panels. This position also involves customer liaison and participation in cross-functional project teams.

How to Apply
Provide technical support and resolve process-related issues to enhance equipment effectiveness
Conduct design checks and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Assist with MV and LV project designs, installations, and generator integration
Participate in PV and battery storage projects
Supervise or coordinate technical investigations for complex issues
Design and implement SOPs and work instructions with cross-functional teams
Perform root cause analysis and corrective action for system failures
Compile and maintain project plans using MS Project and Gantt Charts
Manage and develop technical team staff
Liaise with clients for MV project design, proposals, and approvals
Evaluate team shortcomings and provide development recommendations
Research and implement new technologies and processes
Ensure transformer designs meet requirements for solar, wind, and converter-type units
Address harmonics mitigation and analysis in electrical networks

Qualifications:
BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) is advantageous
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of senior-level experience in a manufacturing, design, and project environment
Candidate or Professional Registration with ECSA required
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in electrical fault level calculations and protection systems
Strong understanding of transformer design and LV/MV installations
Familiarity with SABS 10142 (Parts 1 & 2) – wiring standards
Experience with dry type Minisub (cast resin) design and transformer protection panel innovations
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
