About the Organisation
Mayuge District was established by an act of parliament in 2000 and it’s located in the eastern region of Uganda. The headquarters are situated in Mayuge Town council 120km from Kampala the capital city and 40km from Jinja. It’s bordered by Iganga in the north Jinja in the west, Bugiri in the east and Lake Victoria in the south which is shared by Mukono, district, Bugiri, Mayuge itself and Jinja city.

Job Description
Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons to fill the underlisted vacant post that exist in the service of Mayuge District Local Government. Applications should be submitted in Triplicate on PSC 3(Revised 2008) to the Secretary District Service Commission PO Box 1317 MAYUGE not later than four weeks from the date of this advertisement.
Application forms can be obtained from Public Service Commission Office 2nd floor Farmers' parliamentary Avenue Kampala and/ or any of the District Service Commission Offices and MUST be filled in the applicants own handwriting with three (3) passport size photographs attached. Serving officers should route their applications through their supervisors who should be informed of the closing date to avoid any unnecessary delay.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in teaching and learning activities, such as preparing lesson plans, conducting assessments, marking assignments, and providing feedback.
Providing guidance and counseling to the learners, especially those with special needs, challenges, or talents.
Participating in co-curricular activities, such as sports, clubs, and community service.
Maintaining records and reports on the learners' progress, attendance, and behavior.
Ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for the learners, by adhering to the school rules and regulations, and reporting any issues or incidents.
Attending professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings organized by the district or the ministry of education.

Qualifications and Competencies
The minimum qualifications for the Education Assistants are:
A certificate in primary education from a recognized institution.
A valid registration with the Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU).
At least two years of teaching experience in a primary school.
Proficiency in English and at least one local language spoken in the district.
Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
A high level of integrity, commitment, and professionalism.
