Job Description
The role involves designing and implementing the fund’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), conducting due diligence on investments, and working with investee companies on risk mitigation and capacity building. The Associate will also lead impact framework development, collaborate with internal teams on monitoring and evaluation, and oversee sustainability disclosures. The role requires close engagement with stakeholders, training, and representation of the fund at industry forums. This position offers growth through regular mentorship, training programs, and bi-annual career reviews.

How to Apply
Develop and maintain the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS)
Conduct environmental and social risk due diligence for investments
Develop Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs)
Monitor investee progress on ESAPs and provide implementation guidance
Design and implement the SRV impact management and monitoring framework
Review investment proposals for social/environmental impact
Collaborate with internal teams on impact surveys and data analysis
Lead sustainability-related disclosures and reporting (EU taxonomy/SFDR)
Conduct internal training on E&S risk management
Manage technical assistance for capacity building among investees
Represent the fund in environmental and social forums
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental Science, Social Science, Development Economics, Sustainable Development, or related field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in impact investing, development finance, or impact measurement
Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and international E&S best practices
Familiarity with Theory of Change, impact management, and performance metrics
Experience working with smallholder farmers and early-stage companies
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Knowledge of East African languages is an added advantage
Adaptable and flexible, with a passion for learning in a dynamic environment
