Malaria Consortium
Malaria Consortium is recruiting for District Technical Assistants to join our team in Lira and Gulu to provide technical and implementation support to all Strengthening Uganda’s Malaria Reduction and Elimination strategy project activities in a cluster of districts.
Technical Support and Assistance
Technical Guidance: Providing specialized technical advice and support to local staff, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
Problem Solving: Addressing technical challenges and providing solutions to issues that arise in the district.
Implementation and Monitoring
Project Implementation: Assisting in the planning and implementation of district-level projects and initiatives.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring the progress and impact of projects, ensuring they meet objectives and standards.
Data Collection: Collecting and analyzing data to track project outcomes and impact.
Training and Capacity Building
Training: Organizing and conducting training sessions for local staff, community members, and other stakeholders.
Capacity Building: Enhancing the technical capacity of local teams and communities to ensure sustainability.
Coordination and Collaboration
Stakeholder Engagement: Working closely with local authorities, NGOs, community groups, and other stakeholders.
Coordination: Coordinating with other technical experts, government departments, and organizations to ensure aligned efforts and resource optimization.
Reporting and Documentation
Reporting: Preparing and submitting regular reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Documentation: Documenting best practices, case studies, and lessons learned for future reference.

Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Clinical Medicine or a degree in public health.
Minimum 3 years’ experience implementing malaria and child survival and maternal programs
Experience in training and mentorship of health care workers on malaria and child survival especially new-born care program areas
Previous work with development agencies, NGOs.
Experience in the planning and implementation of communicable disease control/malaria control interventions, behaviour change communication initiatives/health education, health worker trainings and supportive supervision of health workers
Experience in capacity building/ transferring of skills in MNC services.
Experience in working closely with local government
Experience in developing work plans and activity budgets and in following work plans with minimal supervision Competency in computer applications (word, excel, power point)
Excellent communication skills, with strong leadership skills and a supportive management style
