Malaria Consortium

Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a District Officer to join our team in Moroto under the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention programme.

School Governance and Administration:

  • Oversee the implementation of educational policies and guidelines in schools within the district.

  • Ensure that schools comply with regulations and standards set by the education authority.

  • Monitor the performance and effectiveness of school management committees.


Educational Quality Assurance:

  • Evaluate and improve the quality of education provided in schools.

  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of school facilities, teaching standards, and student performance.

  • Develop and implement strategies for school improvement and development.


Training and Development:

  • Organize training programs and workshops for SMC members, teachers, and school staff.

  • Provide guidance and support to school principals and teachers on best practices in school management and pedagogy.


Community Engagement:

  • Foster strong relationships between schools and the local community.

  • Encourage parental involvement and participation in school activities and decision-making processes.

  • Address concerns and feedback from parents, students, and community members.


Resource Management:

  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including funding, materials, and personnel.

  • Ensure efficient and transparent use of financial resources in schools.

  • Advocate for additional resources and support from the education authority or other stakeholders.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of school activities, performance metrics, and committee meetings.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the education authority on the status and needs of schools in the district.

  • Document best practices and success stories for dissemination and replication.


Conflict Resolution:

  • Mediate and resolve conflicts or disputes within schools or between school stakeholders.

  • Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.


Policy Implementation and Advocacy:

  • Advocate for the implementation of policies that enhance educational access, equity, and quality.

  • Participate in policy formulation and review processes at the district or regional level.

  • First degree, or other technical qualification in healthcare, nursing, or public health and the relevant experience highlighted below.

  • Proven experience of supporting the implementation of a public health intervention at district level

  • Experience of supporting planning, community engagement and training in the context of a public health intervention

  • Experience of supporting procurement and supply management in relation to a public health campaign

  • Experiencing of compiling and quality assuring project reports, research, monitoring and evaluation data


  • Experience of supporting the implementation of a community-based public health intervention

  • Experience of supporting the implementation of a mass distribution campaigns

  • Demonstrable experience of working closely with district health authorities, health facility staff and communities

  • Experience of conducting training and supportive supervision in the context of a public health intervention

  • Relevant qualifications or formal training in supply management, research or monitoring and evaluation in the health sector
