Job Description
The Director, Human Resources will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for the development and execution of HR strategies, policies, and programs. The role covers strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition and development, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and HR governance. The candidate will also drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of high performance and employee engagement.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy
Develop and execute the bank’s HR strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
Serve as senior advisor on HR trends and organizational development.
Align talent strategies with operational goals and oversee policy development.
Talent Management
Lead recruitment for critical positions and identify high-potential talent.
Oversee onboarding, succession planning, and leadership development.
Design and implement career paths and capability-building programs.
Performance Management
Drive a performance-oriented culture through competency-based evaluation systems.
Manage succession strategies and retention programs for high-performing staff.
Employee Relations
Ensure industrial harmony and manage grievance and disciplinary procedures.
Represent the bank in collective bargaining negotiations and handle trade disputes.
Learning and Development
Develop strategic learning frameworks and embed diverse learning models.
Manage learning delivery, training plans, and build a preferred provider list.
HR Governance
Monitor policy compliance, OSHA implementation, and statutory obligations.
Coordinate HR audits and submit reports to senior management and regulators.
Provide secretarial and analytical support to HR-related committees.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in HRM, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
Master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, or related field is mandatory.
Certification: Higher Diploma in HRM or Certified HR Professional (CHRP).
Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid practicing certificate.
Experience
At least 15 years of progressive HR experience, with 10 years at senior management level, preferably in the banking industry.
Strong knowledge of HR laws, governance, compliance, and best practices.
Skills & Competencies
Strategic thinking and business acumen.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to lead organizational change and foster a high-performance culture.
