Job Description
The consultant will provide strategic fundraising expertise and develop a series of deliverables aimed at mobilizing resources for UNEP’s digital transformation agenda. Over a four-month engagement, the consultant will identify prospective donors, engage stakeholders, prepare tailored fundraising materials, and create a knowledge management system to track and analyze fundraising efforts. The role will culminate in the delivery of a comprehensive fundraising toolkit and a final report outlining achievements and recommendations.
Deliverables include but are not limited to:
Detailed work plan and methodology
Donor mapping and engagement plan
Customized pitch decks, concept notes, and proposals
Operational knowledge management and tracking systems
Interim and final reports summarizing outreach results
Final presentation to UNEP team
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct donor mapping and identify priority prospects
Initiate donor outreach and engagement
Develop customized fundraising materials (pitch decks, proposals, etc.)
Create and maintain a donor knowledge management system
Monitor and report on donor engagement outcomes and proposal progress
Deliver periodic and final reports, including lessons learned and strategic next steps
Facilitate knowledge transfer through toolkits and presentations

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in International Relations, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Communications, or related fields.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in resource mobilization, donor engagement, or fundraising for international development or environmental programs
Proven experience designing and implementing successful fundraising strategies
Familiarity with digital transformation, environment, or innovation-focused projects
Key Competencies:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
Experience in stakeholder engagement and donor relationship management
Ability to deliver under tight timelines with minimal supervision
