Job Description
As the Digital Products and Experience Lead, you will play a central role in transforming Diageo into a digital-first organization. You will lead efforts to enhance Diageo’s brand websites across Africa, ensuring world-class user experiences (UX), seamless website functionality, compliance with data/privacy regulations, and high reputational standards. Working collaboratively with marketing, digital technology, legal, and agency partners, you will oversee technical SEO, content strategy, site optimization, user journey enhancements, and consumer data acquisition strategies. Success in this role is measured by improved Google quality scores, increased consumer sign-ups, and higher website conversion rates.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Champion consumer experience across all Diageo websites
Define and implement best-in-class UX, user journeys, and conversion strategies
Oversee regular technical updates to improve SEO and website performance
Manage content uploads and technical compliance (age-gating, privacy, data collection)
Collaborate with internal teams and multiple agencies to execute website enhancements
Map Diageo’s digital ecosystem to eliminate redundancies and identify opportunities
Ensure accurate tagging for insights and performance tracking
Drive sign-up flows and improve bounce rates, abandonment, and site revenue
Use analytics and data insights to guide improvements and decision-making
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A university degree in a relevant field
Minimum 10 years’ experience in digital roles (UX, websites, creative/product management)
Expertise in technical SEO, website infrastructure, and Google indexing
Deep understanding of UX design, bounce rate, CRO, and digital content strategy
Familiarity with CDP, CRM systems, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.)
Proven ability to manage multi-functional teams and agencies
Strong grasp of privacy policies, compliance, and digital user behavior
Excellent data-driven decision-making and communication skills
Collaborative mindset with a passion for digital innovation
