Job Description
The Digital Experience Designer will contribute to the acceleration of software development and user adoption through the creation of runbooks, microlearning content, and product spotlights. This role involves applying private-sector best practices, embedding accessibility early in the design process, and adhering to VA brand standards to enhance user experiences. The designer will serve as the team's accessibility expert, ensuring all digital products are compliant with Section 508 standards. They will also work to elevate awareness of PDS (Product Delivery System) effectiveness through targeted content creation.

How to Apply
Create runbooks and microlearning content to support software development and delivery
Streamline design processes using knowledge of VA brand standards to reduce revisions and speed up modernization initiatives
Lead accessibility compliance from the design phase, ensuring digital products meet Section 508 standards
Act as the accessibility subject matter expert for the team
Develop product spotlights to promote and educate stakeholders about PDS product management practices
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure cohesive, user-centered digital solutions
Ensure all deliverables align with organizational goals and enhance the Veteran experience
Education:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Resource Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
(Alternatively, 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for formal education)
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital experience design or related roles
Experience delivering IT products in a government or VA setting
Proven experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite
Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of UX/UI principles and accessibility standards (Section 508)
Ability to deliver high-quality work independently and within collaborative teams
Knowledge of product management and product delivery frameworks
