About the Organisation
The Public Service Commission Kenya (PSCK) traces its roots to 1954, when it was established by the British Colonial Government as the Civil Service Commission, following recommendations of the Holmes Commission Report of 1948. Initially, the Commission served an advisory role to the Governor in matters of public appointments. Upon Kenya’s independence in 1963, the Commission was constitutionally enshrined and renamed the Public Service Commission. Today, PSCK plays a central role in managing and guiding human resources in the public service, ensuring professionalism, fairness, and transparency.
