Job Description
As a Data Governance Content Writer, you will translate complex technical topics—such as metadata management, AI model governance, and compliance frameworks—into compelling, digestible content. You will be responsible for developing technical materials that clearly convey product nuances, align with brand messaging, and resonate with data professionals. Writers must not subcontract their work.
Your tasks include content creation, editing, QA, SME interviews, research, and incorporating feedback to ensure quality. You'll also keep up with evolving regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, and collaborate across the team to improve content precision and engagement.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Translate complex data governance topics into engaging, digestible content
Write and refine technical materials based on client solutions and requirements
Ensure alignment with brand voice and messaging
Implement and revise technical documentation based on feedback
Maintain content accuracy and meet quality standards
Stay updated on data regulations and their implications
Collaborate with technical communicators and QA content
Interview subject matter experts to enrich content with insights
Suggest optimizations and follow content specifications and deadlines
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
3+ years in a data-related role (e.g., data scientist, analyst, compliance manager, etc.)
2+ years in technical writing
Deep understanding of enterprise data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, FAIR, ISO 8000)
Strong writing, research, and editing skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent communication and analytical thinking
SEO experience with an ability to balance readability and optimization
Skilled in interviewing SMEs and managing multiple projects
Positive, feedback-receptive attitude with curiosity and passion for great content
Preferred: experience in B2B, SaaS, and familiarity with data catalogs, observability tools, and multi-cloud environments
A recent portfolio of 3–5 technical writing samples (data-related content preferred)
