Job Description
As a Data Analysis Officer at FACT Foundation, you will develop and implement protocols for data cleaning, ensure the accuracy and consistency of datasets, and conduct advanced data analysis using R and Excel. You will collaborate closely with the research team to interpret data and produce actionable insights. The role also includes preparing detailed reports, dashboards, and visual presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will contribute to improving data collection tools and offer support to staff on data-related tasks while ensuring compliance with data protection policies.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement data cleaning protocols.
Identify and correct data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
Standardize data formats and maintain secure storage systems.
Assist in refining data collection tools.
Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using R and Excel.
Generate summary statistics and identify patterns and trends.
Visualize data to enhance interpretation and presentation.
Prepare data reports, dashboards, and policy briefs.
Support drafting of research publications and communication materials.
Guide research staff on data management and analysis techniques.
Stay current with best practices in data science and analytics tools.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, or related field; advanced degrees (MBA/MSc/MA, PhD) are an added advantage.
Strong proficiency in R and Microsoft Excel.
Proven experience with data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research and data-driven environment.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations and security protocols.
