Background
The Next Creata Program is Next-Creata’s flagship intervention under the Uganda Creatives Program, implemented in partnership with Bayimba Foundation, ITC, and Mastercard Foundation. The program seeks to enhance skills, employability, and financial inclusion for 40,000 young women across Uganda’s creative economy through media production training, digital upskilling, market linkage, and entrepreneurial pathways.
Job Summary:
The Curriculum & Training Manager is responsible for designing, aligning, standardizing, and ensuring the quality delivery of all training and production-based learning under the program. The role ensures that the training is market-relevant, practical, competency-based, and directly linked to pathways to paid creative work.
This position leads:
Curriculum development & adaptation
Training quality assurance
Trainer development & performance supervision
Certification alignment (DIT/NCDC/Industry)
Production project oversight within cohorts

How to Apply
Curriculum Development & Training Design
Develop and adapt media production and digital content curricula for:
TV Production
Radio Production
Broadcast & Motion Graphics
Editing & post-production
Digital content distribution & platform strategies
Translate modules into competency-based learning outcomes, practice tasks, and real production exercises.
Ensure the curriculum reflects current industry workflows, equipment setups, and content trends.
Training Delivery Oversight
Create training calendars, session plans, and assessment rubrics.
Supervise daily instruction delivered by Master Trainers and Guest Experts.
Ensure training environments are hands-on, project-based, inclusive and safe for women.
Monitor class progression, attendance, and learner readiness.
Trainer Capacity Building & Support
Conduct onboarding & induction workshops for trainers.
Evaluate trainer performance through observation, learner feedback & output quality.
Implement continuous professional development and peer learning cycles.
Production Projects & Portfolio Development
Design production project briefs for each cohort, such as:
Short-form video stories
Broadcast feature segments
Podcast/radio series episodes
Graphic promo & social storytelling packages
Oversee project review sessions, critiques, and quality improvements.
Ensure all learners graduate with portfolio-ready work attached to their professional profiles.
Certification, Standards & Compliance
Liaise with DIT / NCDC / media industry guilds for qualification alignment.
Ensure assessment evidence is properly gathered and documented for candidates.
Lead external assessment preparation for trainees.
Coordination & Reporting
Work with the Program Coordinator to ensure scheduling and logistics for all training sessions.
Collaborate with the Downstream Partner Manager to maintain training standards across hubs.
Provide quarterly progress reports and success summaries to the Program Lead and MEL team.
Minimum 5 years of experience in media training, creative education, instructional design, production supervision, or a similar field.
Professional experience in a TV station, radio production house, content studio, creative agency, or equivalent environment.
Experience managing curriculum implementation across multiple sites is an advantage.
Degree in Media Studies, Education, Film Production, or related field preferred (experience is valued more than credentials in evaluation).

Strong expertise in media production workflows (TV, Radio, Film, Digital).
Demonstrated experience in designing training curricula or leading learning programs.
Understanding of competency-based vocational training and adult learning methodologies.
Ability to evaluate creative output and provide constructive professional feedback.
Behavioural Competencies
Highly organized, structured, and process oriented.
Strong communication, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
Comfortable working with diverse learners, including first-time media practitioners.
Ability to lead teams with firmness, fairness, and empathy.
Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured by:
Quality and consistency of training across hubs.
Participant skill acquisition and demonstration through production outputs.
Percentage of trainees who graduate with portfolio-ready work.
Positive trainer and learner satisfaction ratings.
Smooth certification and assessment readiness.
