Job Description
The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing an organization’s credit-granting process, ensuring that credit policies are followed and managing the credit risk associated with clients and vendors. They lead the credit assessment process, monitor outstanding balances, and aim to optimize sales while minimizing bad debt. This role requires strong analytical and decision-making skills to balance risk and reward effectively.

How to Apply
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment: Analyze creditworthiness of clients by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and payment history.
Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update credit policies to ensure efficient and secure lending practices.
Risk Management: Monitor and manage the credit portfolio, identifying potential risks and taking action to minimize defaults.
Collections Oversight: Oversee the collections process to ensure timely payments and coordinate with collections staff on overdue accounts.
Team Leadership: Lead and train a team of credit officers, setting targets, reviewing performance, and ensuring adherence to policies.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on credit metrics, outstanding balances, and delinquent accounts for senior management.

Qualifications
Must hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, Economics, Microfinance, Development Economics, or any other relevant business-related course from a reputable university.
Master’s Degree or postgraduate in credit management will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 5 years of working experience in credit administration.
Should be a strategic thinker with high degree of innovativeness, creativity, and ambition.
Should have strong business and analytical skills.
