Job Description
The Credit Analyst will authenticate and review loan application documents, conduct appraisals, and analyze applicants’ financial status and credit history to determine eligibility. The role requires active participation in the Credit Committee, advising applicants on the status of their applications, and ensuring timely release of approved loan facilities. The analyst will communicate credit policy updates to sales staff, evaluate and process boda-boda credit applications, and ensure proper filing of documentation. Additionally, the position promotes risk management practices, balancing sound judgment with risk and reward in decision-making.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Authenticate and verify documentation for all credit applications.
Appraise customer loan applications and make informed recommendations.
Ensure compliance with the company’s credit policies and procedures.
Provide timely feedback to applicants on loan application outcomes.
Participate actively in Credit Committee deliberations.
Analyze applicant financial status and credit histories for feasibility.
Communicate updates on credit policies to sales staff.
Review, evaluate, and approve boda-boda credit applications.
Ensure all credit documentation is properly processed, filed, and maintained.
Ensure timely release of approved loan facilities.
Support establishment of a strong risk management culture.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Degree in Commerce (Finance option) or related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Credit Analyst.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation management.
Ability to adapt quickly and work independently.
Fluency in English and Swahili.
