Coordination Consultant – African Girls Can Code Initiative Job at UNWomen Uganda

Job Description
The assignment is guided by these priorities to support effective coordination, implementation and operational continuity, contributing directly to AGCCI Phase IV outcomes on expanded access to digital skills, strengthened institutional coordination and sustainable pathways for girls and young women in the digital economy.
The consultant will report directly to the Deputy Country Representative responsible for coordinating the program portfolio which includes coordinating relationships with national partners and stakeholders, and the monitoring and reporting, and the finances.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate the AGCCI Phase IV Programme:
- Coordinate the overall Programme/Portfolio work plan development and implementation according to programme document.
- Plan and conduct inception planning; maintain the workplan, budget tracker and risk register
- Gather inputs and coordinate the preparation of workplans, periodic narrative progress reports and expenditures status reports to the Programme Board and UN Women.
- Establish systems for project planning, implementation and monitoring, in collaboration with partners; and
- Record and maintain documents on relevant programme activities, issues, and risks.
- Coordinate the setting up and of the new AGCCI Tech Hub.
Guide coordination with national partners and other stakeholders:
- Coordinate relationships with national partners to support implementation and expansion of the AGCCI Programme, and continue to support and coordinate engagement with key partners; raise potential problems and suggest solutions; and
- Identify capacity building needs and support partners through technical assistance, mentoring, training and capacity development initiatives, as needed.
Coordinate the monitoring and reporting on the AGCCI Programme:
- Gather and compile all information necessary for monitoring and reporting on programmes and projects from the planning to the evaluation stages.
- Monitor the implementation of activities and the expenditure on funds; conduct regular monitoring visits, as required.
- Draft and provide input to monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual and end‑of‑programme reports
- Provide inputs from AGCCI programme activities and results to the Country Office reporting.
Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies:
- Provide inputs to the development of partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
- Support resource mobilization efforts for AGCCI Phase V in collaboration with AULO.
Advocate and facilitate knowledge building, management and communication:
- Document the programme implementation process and products.
- Contribute to the exchange of information and provide inputs to the development of knowledge products internally and externally of the programme; and
- Coordinate the organization of major advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products for AGCCI Phase IV.
Consultant’s Workplace and Official Travel:
- This is an office‑based consultancy based at the UN Women Moroto Sub‑Office in Northeastern Uganda. The assignment will involve intermittent official travel to AGCCI project districts to support implementation, coordination, and monitoring activities.
