Job Description

The Compliance Manager will ensure compliance with local and international banking regulations by reviewing policies and procedures, monitoring prudential ratios, and overseeing anti-money laundering (AML) compliance. The role involves implementing the Compliance Monitoring Plan, conducting compliance risk assessments, supervising compliance officers, and providing guidance on complex regulatory matters. The Compliance Manager will also drive a strong compliance culture by conducting training, supporting business units in embedding compliance best practices, and ensuring timely resolution of regulatory audit findings.

How to Apply

  • Review policies and procedures to ensure alignment with local and international banking regulations.

  • Monitor compliance with prudential ratios, AML regulations, and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) efforts.

  • Implement the Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) and conduct periodic compliance risk assessments.

  • Keep the bank updated on new laws and regulations, conducting impact assessments.

  • Monitor and report on compliance risks, ensuring timely resolution of regulatory audit findings.

  • Support regulatory reporting by ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries.

  • Supervise compliance officers and provide guidance on complex regulatory matters.

  • Provide compliance training and awareness campaigns to staff.

  • Act as an advisor to business units, ensuring compliance best practices in daily operations.

  • Support the Head of Compliance in ensuring zero tolerance for regulatory penalties.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).

  • Professional certification such as CCP, CFA, CIS, ACCA, ACAMS, or CFE is highly desirable.

  • 3–5 years of experience in compliance within the banking sector.

  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations, AML/CFT laws, and risk management frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • High integrity, accountability, and confidentiality in handling compliance matters.

  • Fluency in English and/or French with strong report writing skills.
